How to upgrade your Gmail Account

with 2 comments

If you have been wondering, why has google been so unfair with you and not upgraded your account to its latest version, then this tip is for you. For some reason if your language settings is set to en_UK then your account would have been left out (or at least as on date on this post), if you don’t mind your american english being used in your gmail account (Click here for more differences) then change it to en_US and it will reload with the new features.Settings

  1. This is because Google has massive internationalisation fail (just one of their many deficiencies in their business of ‘building web sites’), and underlines yet again that whilst they are phenomenally successful in certain areas, they are consistently poor craftsmen.

I’m yet to figure out if this is because with limitless resources available to them, they simply don’t care about building things properly, whether they’re simply not as clever as they say they are or whether they’ve found a competitive advantage in producing crap.

  2. I agree, from the amount of globalspace pollution I got recently while playing around with google maps, it surely clear that no one really cares to do the right thing, it mostly works and works quite well standalone atleast.
